participate in Children and Youth Florida tournament which will be
held on October 19. The kids will be placed in 3 age categories: up to 6 years
old, to 8, and 8 to 16.
Also it will be simultaneously games with the Women World Champion Tetiana
Zaitseva.
All participants will be prized! Snacks and sweets are provided!
Escape the cold, spend a nice weekend in South Florida!

Here are some specifics details about
the Florida Children and Youth tournament from a Vadym Lapin email: On Saturday, October 19, the first open junior championship of Florida in
Anglo-American drafts checkers was held at the Russian school Sunville Town.
This is the third checkers championship in the history of the school, but for
the first time, thanks to coach Vadim Lapin, he managed to improve his
qualification status. The tournament brought together about 30 participants in
three age categories - junior, middle and senior. The real struggle unfolded
in all categories - there were smiles and disappointments. In the category of
4-6 years, the winner of the decisive match was Christopher Peschaniy,
Benjamin Rogers took the second place, and Nicholas Favre took the third
place. In the middle age category of 6-8 years, Sofia Shilov won the first
place, Sofia Ryabin took the second, and Vera Pavlow took the third. A serious
struggle unfolded in the older age category, because in it the winners of
previous tournaments in the younger and middle age categories joined the
participants. As a result, Yegor Alai got the gold, Konstantin Kotelnikov got
the silver, and Maxim Staroverov got the bronze. Honorary referee of the
tournament is Tatyana Zaitseva, the absolute world champion in Checkers. We
congratulate all the winners and participants of the tournament, wish them
self-confidence and further victories! We thank the sponsors and parent
volunteers for their help in organizing the tournament.
Synopsis:
We successfully held the tournament for Florida Children and Youth.
This was a great tournament thanks to Joe McDaniel's donation! We bought prizes for everyone and
all kids also received nice certificates and medals! We thank our coach Vadym Lapin for preparing young
champions as well as Tetiana Zaitseva for helping with arbitration. We also
thank Lena Ayriyan for assistance in holding the event and for organizing the
photography of the tournament. Such events were decided to be held on a
